Dance, dance, dance!

Our class walked into the "All Purpose" room. That was the room where all of the band students had their classes. There were lights on the slippery floor that twirled and spread out across the ground. I wasn't so surprised at first, but mostly because I don't like dancing in front of 6th graders and other 5th grade boys.
Some 6th grade teacher told us that there were beverages that we could "drink." After that, I noticed that there was a scrawny looking DJ with puny head phones. He cranked up the volume and songs from "107.5, The River" were on. You know, really cheesy songs that us 5th and 6th graders like. I still had my glasses on, and they were slipping off from the sweat on my nose.
"So that's why we left our class room during a test!" I thought. We had collected the most presents for our assigned 4 year old kid. After we did the "Cha-cha-cha" I took off my glasses and my eyes didn't get watery when I did it, thankfully. It was a pain. I slipped my hot pink glasses into the front pocket of my long, thin purse. I felt a little more confident with girls around. Girls are very nice in my class. Some can be rude, but they are always nice in some form.
I had a great time, actually! My shirt had become un-tucked and I didn't notice until the half day was over. That was a pleasant day for me! Bring it on Winter Break! Bring it on. ~Merry Christmas

December 2, 2010 (Gay talk)

:) Gay and Non-gay People Renite! :)

"Your parents are gay," said one kid. "How do you know?!?!? I have a Mom AND a Dad!" said the other. "Oohh! So you have two dads or two moms?" The rude kid remarked. I got really bothered by this conversation. Nothing is wrong with people that are actually gay! I wanted to say to them, "What if they are gay?" I'd wait for a reply. I'd guess no reply from them. "That's right. There isn't anything else to say. Gay people have the right to be human just like all of the other people in the world." I mean, what if there was a world where people were gay? And they called us gay for liking a different gender? See how you feel now?!
I've had ENOUGH of people calling each other gay. Nothing... I mean NOTHING... is wrong with people being gay. I get so swelled up with anger when they are "kidding" around with that word. But now people make it seem like that the word means looser of something. Gay used to be a word for happy. If you say that to another person... Oh my goodness! Then they'll be calling you/that person "happy!"
This week at my school has been very well. No bullying for me... yet... but the only things that I've heard is that others are being bullied now. They are being called stupid, gay, sick, and so much other rude and disrespectful words. This post is to all gay people and all non-gay people. Stand up to those people and tell them that you are different. Even the people that aren't gay! Everyone is different. Now, you wouldn't like everyone to be the SAME, would you? Copying you, wearing the same clothes your wearing, etc. Don't like that huh?
A kid that was probably gay, say in a chair the opposite way. "Sooooo gay. You know, only gay people do that." I thought, "Oh, like you've never sat like that?" Psh! I'm telling you, bullying is going around all schools. Espacially the what-I've-been-talking-about bullying. Gay people and non-gay people reunite!!!!!! :)

November 30, 2010

Part 1
"Julie... Gary... and Mary," my student teacher said. My whole face flooded with red. My cheeks were redder than ever before. I... actually had to be Science partners with GARY. I'm fine with Julie but Gary?!?!?!
I walked over to his desk with my science book work sheet. "Ugh, why do I have to be with you freaks!" he told us. I stayed silent. My face calmed down while I sat down in front of him. I picked up my pencil and looked the notes I had made about "weather." Scribble scribble. "Hey guys!!! What's number one?" Gary screamed. I finally spoke out, "We aren't here to tell you the answers Gary, we're here to HELP each other." "MS. HOPPER! THEY ARE MAKING ME DO ALL THE WORK!!!" (Ms. Hopper is the student teacher) My face went bright red. Not with embarrassment, with anger. "No, we aren't doing th-" I saw Ms. Hopper shake her head and smile. Psh. She thought it was cute. After I paused, Gary snatched Julie's pencil and tried to take mine. I hung onto my pencil, but the squishy thing on it made it slip away.
"Give us our pencils!!! We haven't even done Question #1 yet!" We shouted. "So what! I will give 'em back if you tell me the answer." "No!" I said. "Oh fine, the answer is polar zone," blurted out Julie. Julie!! I thought. He didn't do that again... thankfully. Well he didn't do that again because right when Julie told Gart the answer to #1, Ms. Hopper told us to go back to our seats.
"Good grief does that boy give me the itch to sock him!" I didn't though. It's too bully-like. I walked back to my desk and I gave him a mean glare across the room with my face hot. He didn't see me but I didn't care. "Lord, please know that if that was the chance you game me to make him STOP bullying me and me getting to like him as a friend, then I think that that mission failed. Failed pretty good."
Part 2
One morning after that terrible experience, (not the next day but, something close to the next week) my real teacher Mrs. Duffy pulled me outside. Right as she had called my name, I had noticed Gary walk out of the hallway and into the classroom. "Oh great," I thought. I knew what was coming to me.
"Mary, has Gary been calling you names lately?" she asked. I nodded. "Why didn't you tell me?" I spoke up at once. "Well, I don't think that it's a very smart thing to do if you just have one problem and tell the teacher that. I like to keep a log of things that people had done to me that is rude. Oh, and I have lots of comments for Gary in that log and Gary only." She understood me. "I see. That's a smart thing to do, but if something ever comes up like this again anytime, any day after 8:00 this morning, then I am going to have to call his parents." I smiled a little smile that Mrs. Duffy couldn't see. "Thank you Mrs. Duffy!" "Are you happy?" she asked. "Yes! I'm very happy!" "Good girl." I hugged her. I opened the door and shut it as quiet as possible. I looked at Gary. He didn't dare look up. I could tell. His face was still red. I walked into my seat. I felt pretty good about myself and the day that was coming. The announcements came on and I put my hand over my heart. I said the Pledge of Allegiance and I prayed so hard during the moment of silence that my eyes were red when I opened them. My pray was so successful, that you would fall to the ground!
